Hungary Government Scholarship 2025 (Stipendium Hungaricum) | Fully Funded

Hungary Government Scholarship 2025 also called Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship is one of the most competitive and prestigious fully funded programmes in Europe. This scholarship is founded by the Hungarian Government and supervised by Tempus Public Foundation in order to facilitate the international collaboration and assist talented students all over the world.During the 2025-2026 academic year, students will be eligible to enroll to Bachelor, Master, One-tier Master, Doctoral (PhD), and Non-degree programs in the best-ranked universities in Hungary. The scholarship covers tuition fees, monthly allowance, and housing allowance, and includes an all-inclusive health insurance cover.

Having over 600 programs delivered in English with over 90 partner countries, the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship is a wonderful possibility to study in Europe fully financed. Applications have now opened until 15 January 2025.

Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program was established in 2013 and it is currently among the best government funded scholarship programs in Europe. It gives the international students a chance to study in such prestigious institutions in Hungary as:

• Eotvos Lorand University (ELTE).
• University of Debrecen
• University of Pecs
• University of technology and Economics in Budapest.
• Corvinus University of Hungary.
• Szeged University and many more.

The coverage of the program is extensive, encompassing such areas as Engineering, Medicine, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Agriculture, Economics, Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

In 2025-2026, new reforms are in place, particularly on PhD programs, which have a tighter enrolment, scholarship renewal and dissertation requirements.

For Bachelor’s, Master’s & One-Tier Master’s Students

• Full tuition fee exemption
• Monthly stipend: HUF 43,700
• Accommodation support: Free dormitory OR HUF 40,000/month housing allowance

Eligibility Criteria

In order to get the Hungary Government Scholarship 2025, one will have to:

• Be a citizen of eligible partner countries.
• Have the required educational background:

• Meet academic and English requirements of the chosen university.
• By 15 January 2025, upload all the necessary documents.
• Is not a citizen of Hungary (with some exceptions).
• Not receive two Hungarian state-funded scholarships at the same time.
• In certain countries (e.g., Pakistan, Nigeria, India), the nomination of the sending partners is obligatory.
