Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Scholarship 2026 is a competitive financial award program aimed at sponsoring excellent students wishing to be enrolled on Master and PhD level programs in Thailand. Detailed Description
The AIT Scholarship 2026 is an initiative that assists postgraduate students in obtaining postgraduate education in one of the most reputable research institutions in Asia. However, unlike a lot of state-funded awards, it is a no-bond scholarship, which means that students do not have to serve a sponsor or the university upon graduation.
The three schools of AIT provide the scholarship:
- School of Engineering and Technology (SET).
- School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD).
- School of Management (SOM)
The applications are reviewed by each school Selection Committee based on academic excellence, research fit and English proficiency. Finalization of the award is then done by the Dean of the school.

Eligibility Criteria
To be appointed, the applicants should fulfill the following criteria:
- Nationality: Open to any international students.
- Academic Requirements:
- Master: Four-year Bachelor degree or other college-degree with good academic status.
- PhD: Masters degree having an average GPA of 3.50.
- Language proficiency: English:
- Master: IELTS 5.0 (equivalent: AIT English Entry Test).
- PhD: IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent of AIT English Entry Test).
- Waiver may be made in case of prior education in complete English (with permission).
- Research Proposal: PhD applicants In the case of PhD applicants, the proposal needs to conform to the areas of focus at AIT.
- Good Academic Record: The applicants should demonstrate good academic record.

1. Is the AIT Scholarship fully funded?
No. It offers total or partial tuition fee waivers. Students have to pay registration fees and living costs.
2. Can I apply without IELTS?
Yes, however, you have to do the AIT English Entry Test or provide IELTS scores. A waiver can be used in case you had studied in English before.
3. Do I need a separate application for the scholarship?
No. During admission all applicants are taken into consideration.
